MarginLine Privacy Policy

MarginLine is an offline voice transcription app for iPhone, made by Rocket City Lead Co. This policy covers the MarginLine app. The short version: the app collects nothing. Your recordings and transcripts never leave your phone unless you turn on the optional Agent Bridge described below.

What we collect

Nothing. MarginLine has no account sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not run servers that receive your audio, your transcripts, or your usage. We cannot see what you record or transcribe, and we could not share or sell it if we wanted to.

Your audio and transcripts

Recordings you make and files you import are transcribed on your device using a speech model stored on the phone. Transcription works with no internet connection. Your recordings, transcripts, and settings stay in the app's storage on your phone until you delete them. Deleted items sit in the app's Recently Deleted for up to 30 days, then are erased permanently. You can also delete all audio files at any time from Settings.

The one download

The first time you open the app, it downloads the speech model (about 626 MB) from a public model host so transcription can run on the device. That download sends no personal information. After it finishes, the app works fully offline.

Agent Bridge (optional, off by default)

MarginLine includes an optional Agent Bridge that lets an AI agent on your own computer read your transcripts. It is off until you turn it on in Settings. When it is on, it listens only on your local network, only while the app is open, and every request needs the access token and the current session PIN shown in the app. Anyone on your network who has that token and PIN can read your transcripts, so only paste the setup details into an agent you trust, and revoke access when you are done. The bridge can read transcripts only. It cannot change or delete them, and it never connects to the internet.

Purchases

MarginLine Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card details. Apple may tell the app whether your subscription or lifetime purchase is active, which the app uses to unlock Pro features.

Children

MarginLine is a general-purpose transcription tool. It is not directed at children, and it collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of MarginLine changes how data is handled, we will update this page and the date at the top before that version ships. Features listed as coming in the app, such as iCloud sync, will use your own Apple account if you turn them on, and this policy will describe them in detail before they are released.
